HMYA provides assistance to members in processing
boat ownership transfers and
Marine Work Permit renewals by working
with a government representative. Note: You may choose to renew your
work permit and transfer the boat ownership yourself by working
directly with the coast guard which may require you to take your
boat to the government office for inspection.
Step
1: Have the boat
inspected by the fleet captain and get a signed
Q Form to insure it is seaworthy before buying the
boat.
Step
2: Go pick up a
boat transfer package from the HMYA Clubhouse which is open on Saturday and
Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:00pm (except on holidays.) Follow the instructions in the package
and assemble all the required documents. Do not
complete any forms unless you are sure you understand
them filling out only the English forms. It is
easier if you do not sign or date any forms until you
bring them to the office for assistance in completing
them. The broker will translate all forms for you
into Arabic, so it is not necessary or desirable for you
to complete them.
Step 3: Bring all required
documents and fee in Saudi Riyals (exact change is
appreciated) to the main office to complete the transfer
process.
