- Boats
are larger and able to sail in more varied conditions than
other fleets – typically setup time for sailing is about
45 minutes.

Difficult to master –
This boats are not recommended for the beginner.
However for those with basic sailing skills, they offer the
opportunity to fully develop and fine tune your skills.

Regular maintenance
and upkeep more intensive than other fleets – the boats are
larger and more complex than other boats and will require
the owners to have considerable skills and willingness to
maintain the boats.
- Regular Scheduled Racing -- Due to the
harder work involved with sailing these boats, races are
schedule during the cooler months of the year.
Typically two racing seasons (Fall Season - usually from
September-December and Spring Season - Late January- March.
NOTICE OF RACE SERIES
1.
The
Offshore Fleet Fall
2011
Race Series will be held on Half Moon Bay starting September
29th, 2011.
2. The
race will be governed by the Racing Rules of sailing 2009 - 2012
and the Racing Instructions. All Offshore and Miscellaneous
Fleet boats are eligible to participate.
3.
No registration is required, however notification to the
Offshore Fleet Captain of your intention to race (if you have
not raced in the last 2 year) is recommended in order to allow
time to determine and assign a temporary handicap.
4.
There will be 2 races per race day as follows:
First Race 1000
Second Race 1330
5.
Race days are scheduled on the following dates:
Sept
29th, Oct 13th, 27th, Nov 17th and
Dec 1st.
6. Racing
Instructions will be available on
http://hmyaonline.com
before the season starts.
7 .
A high point scoring system will be used as documented in the
racing instructions.
8.
Prizes will be awarded to all boats participating and a season
trophy will be awarded to the boat with the highest score at the
end of the season.
9.
The Half Moon Bay Yacht Association, its Officers, members and
employees accept no liability whatsoever for any accidents or
damage that occur which are directly or indirectly related to
this event. It is a condition of entry that all competitors
take part at their own.
